‘Harry Potter en de Steen der Wijzen,’ the first Dutch edition of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,’ appeared as a paperback in August 1998 and was among the very first foreign publications, even a month before the first American edition. The first Dutch edition in Hardback (with WB movie fonts) followed October 2000.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter in the Netherlands, the publisher released a Hardback edition with identical pre-movie fonts as the first Dutch paperback edition. However, in the anniversary edition, the cover text 'Harry Potter &' is gilded. This beautifully produced edition has fold-out illustrated endpapers with a Hogwarts scenery. The text includes a rare interview with translator Wiebe Buddingh.
Almost fine copy of a first Edition, later printing with hardly any wear to the covers, inside clean without inscriptions or other flaws. The 25th-anniversary edition is new.
