First Edition, First Printing of the UK Bloomsbury hardcover edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. According to Phillip W. Errington (J.K. Rowling: A Bibliography, 2018, p. 65), this edition was published on 2 July 1998 in a print run of only 706 copies. There are reasonable doubts about this number, as the book regularly appears in the market. Nevertheless a very limited print run. Condition is near fine with vibrant colors, bumped spine ends and pushed corner tips. The binding is tight, the endpapers and pages are clean, with no names or inscriptions, and without foxing. The page edges are browned as usual. The original unclipped first edition, first state dust jacket is also in a near fine condition, with only very minor wear and free from fading. A handsome example of this title.
