This First American Edition, First Printing was signed with a black pen by J.K. Rowling on the title page on October 12, 1999, at Barnes & Noble in Natick, MA. The book was signed for the previous owner, Heather Huntley, who attended the signing event with her father. The spine ends of the book are slightly bumped; otherwise, the book is in Fine condition, with a Fine dust jacket. A yellow Post-it note with a “waving wizard” stamp on the verso of the signed title page, placed there by a Barnes & Noble employee to speed up the signing, is still present.
First editions of this book, signed in the year of publication, are highly sought after and therefore scarce. This copy includes a very detailed, lengthy letter by Heather, recounting the day of the signing event, which provides a beautifully detailed story from the perspective of a 15-year-old Harry Potter fan.
Also included is the all-important Letter of Authenticity (LOA) from the world’s only J.K. Rowling signature expert, Adam Houston of TheHarryPotterSpecialist, along with a collector’s card containing interesting details.
