Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, 1st edition, 17th printing, with a very charming inscription on the half-title: "To J.J. (very cool name) from J.K. (not so cool) JK Rowling". Number line from 20 to 17 on the copyright page. Light damp-staining to the right margin of the dedication page. Publisher's pictorial wrappers, creases to covers, light shelf wear with slightly rubbed corners. Two stickers on the front cover (Smarties Book Prize Winner 1997 and Free bookmark inside). 

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 1st edition, 1st printing, with a follow-up inscription by the author on the dedication page: "To JJ (again!) JK Rowling". Number line from 10 to 1 on the copyright page. Previous ownership inscription on the inside front cover (JJ's Harry Potter). Ink marks on the fore-edge (not affecting the text). Publisher's pictorial wrappers, corners slightly rubbed, minor wear. Sticker on the front cover (Smarties Book Prize Winner 1998).

Notes:
In 1998, the dedicatee was attending Abbeyhill Primary School and was invited to Central Hall in Tollcross, Edinburgh, at the start of summer to attend a press event for the release of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which J.K. Rowling also attended. On arrival, the dedicatee was given a copy of the new book, and as he also had his copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (his class reading book) with him, J.K. Rowling signed both books at the end of the event.

Included is a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist, the world's sole expert on J.K. Rowling's signature, as well as an interesting collector's card. Kept in custom-made blue slipcases.
