This Fifth Printing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (the US edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone) was signed with a black pen by J.K. Rowling on the title page on October 12, 1999, at Barnes & Noble in Natick, MA. The book was signed for the original owner, Heather Huntley, who attended the signing event with her father. The spine ends are slightly bumped; otherwise, the book is in Fine condition, with a Fine dust jacket. A yellow Post-it note with a “waving wizard” stamp on the verso of the signed title page, placed there by a Barnes & Noble employee to speed up the signing, is still present. Also included is the purple notecard stamped with a dragon that served as a ticket for the signing event.

This fifth US printing was released only a few months after the first printing in October 1998, likely in early spring 1999. Early printings of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone that were signed close to the publication date are highly sought after and therefore scarce. Most of the signed copies from Rowling's 1999 signing tour in the USA are 22nd printings, making it exceptionally rare to find a signed fifth printing. This very nice copy includes a detailed, lengthy letter by Heather, recounting the day of the signing event, providing a beautifully detailed account from the perspective of a 15-year-old Harry Potter fan.

Also included is the all-important Letter of Authenticity (LOA) from the world’s only J.K. Rowling signature expert, Adam Houston of TheHarryPotterSpecialist, along with a collector’s card.
